A New Focus!

Alright so this week I started working out again. I sooo need to get this body into shape again and have a renewed focus. Since getting pregnant has not come easy and is out of my control, I've decided to get back on the horse, so to speak. The whole euphoric feeling after the completion of a workout is one I have not experienced in a long while. My plan, at this moment, is Power 90 and Turbo Jam.

Right up there with my renewed committment to my physical health, I have decided to focus on my mental health as well. Who knew how thrilling it would be to get rid of some relationships that have been wearing me down over the years. There were two in particular and while I have known the both of them for the better part of my life, that does not necessarily mean we were "meant" to be friends or associates. As time passes, I am learning there are definitely seasons in relationships. During the time while in my "funk", I began to reflect on who is in my life and who really is not worth the energy. I'm making changes, man, making changes. :-)

Wow, it has been a long time!

It has been quite a while since I updated this blog mainly because I have been busy and also I was not really much in the mood for anything. In bit of a funk, I guess. All is well, for the most part. This TTC is for the birds, no luck so far. I spoke to my RE two days ago and she wants to see me next month and we will go from there, I guess.

Josh is doing well overall. He has become a prankster of sorts over the past month and a half or so. The thing is, his pranks are only funny to him. His lastest "joke" or "trick" was to SPIT, YES, SPIT into the modem. God only knows what really possessed him to do that. I was wondering why I could not get a dial tone or access the internet. When I went to check the modem, there was the odor of something burnt in the room and there was my child covering his nose. And oh, he spit into the right and the left side of the modem. I was so pissed, I could not even talk to him. Later I explained to him that it is not funny when things are destroyed or if people get hurt. A few days ago, he wanted to put water on the floor so when Greg came home, he would slip and fall. Sigh!

Last week, he had his Spring Concert at school. It was cute. The first graders sang two songs "This Little Light of Mine" and another song which title escapes me. It was half Spanish and half English. He sang but spent some time trying to spot me in the audience but I am proud he participated and had fun.

CD 4

Well at least she decided to show. I was having those dual symptoms for the past week. On to the next cycle I go. I have been urged to ask SIL for the fertility monitor at the end of this week. She and BIL are trying now but this is their last cycle for a while, I believe. She has had the monitor for 14 months now. What would you do?

School started yesterday for Josh. Half the school year is over already. Wow, wow, wow.

The weather has been great. Yesterday it was 84 and today 88. It's supposed to be in the 80s all week. Gotta love it. I hope the weather remains mild the rest of the season.

Should I call him Doctor? :-)

Happy New Year All! It's been a couple of weeks since I posted an update. Josh has been out of school for almost three weeks now so he is keeping me very busy. Last night we were talking about diabetes and he said "You need to watch how much sugar you eat because with diabetes you can die, just kidding." I told him that he was actually right, if I did not control my blood sugar level and watch what I eat, I could in fact die and I did not want to die due to diabetes. His response... "I don't want you to die either because when I get older and have kids, I want them to have a grandma." He sounds beyond his years sometimes. Sigh! We then discussed what I have to do to make sure I stay healthy. He got his notebook and then proceeded to make a checklist for me.

He asked for the spelling of a few words but the others he knew. I love that he added his concern for relaxation as well by including "read a book", "hear music" and "play a game". Gotta love this child!

On the ttc front,I am still waiting for my cycle to start. It is CD 33 now. I have taken two pregnancy tests and they were negative. Just waiting now. I hate waiting.

Happy Holidays!!

Happy Holidays! It's Christmas Eve and I am finally getting excited for the holiday. I am one of those procrastinators who waits until the very last minute possible to do shopping. Thank God for online shopping! It has made my life much easier over the past few years. Last night, I actually ventured to the mall since Kay Bee Toys is going out of business. It was much, much better than I anticipated. Although the selection was limited, I was able to find some great toys he would enjoy. I can't wait to see his reaction as he opens the gifts. We have, for weeks, been threatening to send Santa a text to let him know he does not need to stop by on Christmas when Josh starts to misbehave. He of course can read now and stands over my shoulder and I type the text. It's actually kind of funny how fast he whips into shape. Tonight he even helped me clean the kitchen after dinner.

Earlier today, Josh said he had "a great idea" which was to take an afternoon nap. He joined me in the recliner and slept for 2 hours. I was thankful for that time. God knows he does not sit still for very long so to be able to just hold him and study him was a blessing. That is something I have not done in quite a while.

On Sunday, evil SIL had a gathering at her home for nice SIL, Vickie. There is a long history of evil SIL's evilness and that would be several pages in itself so I will try to keep it as brief as possible. She goes out of her way to hurt feelings and belittle people. Greg insists that I should just let it roll off but if I do that, she will just continue her horrible behaviour. Anyway, Greg and my BILs were watching football and evil SIL wanted everyone to play a game. The guys were not interested and evil SIL actually threw a tantrum and went as far to say that everyone should do want the host wants and we were in her "bleeping" house. Josh was sitting right there and she did not care. She wanted to have another gathering tonight, Christmas Eve, but I told Greg nooooo way. He agreed, thanks goodness.

On the ttc front, I am in the waiting period, I believe. My cycles are so wacky though so timing is challenging. I can only hope and pray for the creation of a special holiday gift.

Investigation Has Been Completed

I'm in the clear. :-). The insurance company is paying the claims, Thank God! School is out for three weeks starting tomorrow. I don't have any plans as of yet with Josh and need to think of some fun things to do. The grades are in on the psych class I just completed. I got a B. My hope is take two classes during the intersession and then two more classes in the spring semester. Then, I will be done with my prereqs for the Nursing program. How am I gonna do this? I'm not sure but I cannot wait another year to get this done. My back is against the wall in a few aspects of my life and I hate it. It will all come together, things always do.

My SIL, Vickie, is in town for a few days and stopped by tonight to visit for a while. She and my BIL moved to TN a year and a half ago and she is sorely missed. I really wish she would come back but I don't know how likely that is. She adores Josh and the feeling is mutual. He lights up when she is around him. We miss you, Vickie!

I am under Investigation??

What the??? Under investigation by my health insurance company. They seem to think I had a preexisting condition of diabetes when applying for coverage with them. Never mind that I have had coverage with them off and on for about 5 years. If I had a preexisting condition, wouldn't I have sought treatment for it prior to now? Anyway, they are now refusing to pay claims while they review my medical records. So, I have been receiving bills from labs and my endocrinologist. My first thought after viewing the endo bill was I wish I could rewind time, go to med school and become an endocrinologist. The charge for my initial visit was $475.00, that was just for meeting with the doctor for about an hour or so. They actually charged $18.00 to prick my finger and check my blood sugar level. Unreal! Completely unreal! The charge for the second visit was $325.00. My lab work was even more expensive. $1250.00 for ONE flippin' antibody blood test. ONE TEST! The grand total from the lab is over $2300.00. I can only hope the insurance company finishes their investigation very soon and pays these claims. Sigh!
